HUMAN RIGHTS IN DUBAI

Human Rights are quite preserved in Dubai if said that it is a democratic country but still the rights are preserved for the higher and middle class people. It is noticed that labour coming from all over the world are quite well miss treated in Dubai which is a sad part about Dubai. Of course Dubai is a homogenous state but still it doesn’t provide the people the rights who make it a cosmopolitan state. Article 25 of the
Constitution of the UAE provides for the equitable treatment of persons with regard to race, nationality, religious beliefs or social status.

NPR has reported that the maximum labor in Dubai live Eight to Ten in One room just to save up the cost of living and save send a sum back home. Many of them living in such a miserable state do get fed up and end up doing something which is not prescribed. Its human nature than a man has a tendency of both human and animal reactions which was seen on 21 March 2006, workers at the construction site of Burj Khalifa, upset over bus timings and working conditions, rioted: damaging cars, offices, computers, and construction tools. This was something which was a beginning to someone who would voice state in the lavished city like Dubai. There silent state was not heard and is now being reported here but would it make a difference or not?

Towards the end of March 2006, the government announced steps to allow construction unions. UAE labor minister Ali al-Kaabi said: "Laborers will be allowed to form unions". It would not be incorrect to say that the government did put up a lot of efforts in resolving the state’s issue but still some where the issue still lies in the core of  hearts which don’t speak thinking of their families back home. The question here arises that is too good to be true?
